After graduating from Louisiana State University in 1978, Dr Pool settled in Louisiana, where she worked for four years with animals of all shapes and sizes. In 1982 she moved to New Jersey and became a state regulatory veterinarian. She later moved back to Louisiana, and in 1989 earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology. She began working at Deepwood in 1989, and in 1996 she took over ownership of the clinic from her father-in-law, Dr. Robert Mouser. Dr Pool’s primary veterinary interests are unusual medical diagnostic cases, soft tissue surgery and general wellness care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Pool and her husband, Bobby live on-site; she thinks of the clinic as her home away from home, and of her employees as one big extended family. When not working, she loves to visit with her three children and four grandchildren.

Dr. Clark grew up in rural Pennsylvania, spending many summers helping out on her grandfather’s dairy farm and the horse boarding barn across the road. Both of which fueled her love of animals big and small. In 2018 she got her bachelor’s degree in biology from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA while volunteering at the local animal shelter, a dairy farm, and a rescue farm which mainly housed pigs, horses, and alpacas. From there she went on to pursue her veterinary degree at the University of Illinois while participating in many clubs, working at the research farm and in the large animal clinic. She graduated in 2023 and joined the Deepwood family in June of 2023. Dr. Clark and her fiancé Dylan have a Catahoula/Pitty mix named IV and two guinea pigs named Chyli and Margo. Together they enjoy hiking, game nights, and movies. Dr. Clark also enjoys riding horses and reading in her spare time.
